Frequently Asked Questions

My pedal requires a 9V DC 300mA power supply.  Will I damage my equipment if I use a power supply with a higher rating?

No.  Think of the pedal taking power from the power supply like drinking water through a straw.  The pedal 'sucks' as much power as it needs rather than the power supply 'pushing' power to the pedal.  If the pedal requires a lower current then that is how much it will draw from the power supply.  The power rating of the power supply relates to how big the straw is - the wider the diameter, the more water can be sucked through.  It is always recommended to have power in reserve so that the power supply is not operating at its maximum capacity the whole time.

I only have three pedals.  Your EPS-426 power supply has a daisy chain for six pedals.  Will it still work if I don't plug all six power tips in?

Yes, the power supply will work with any number of pedals - even if you're only using a single pedal!  The EPS-426 can power 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 pedals itself and, if you add an extra daisy chain you can power up to 10 pedals with it!

I live in the USA.  Will this power supply operate at 110V?

Our best-selling EPS-426 power supply is available with UK, European and US plug types.  In addition, and regardless of plug type, this particular power supply will operate at anything from 110V to 240V.  It will automatically detect the input voltage and adjust itself - there is no need for you to do anything.  This means that you can use this power supply around the world, only ever needing a plug adaptor for different countries.

Will this power supply work with XXXX brand of pedal?

Approximately 98% of all effect pedals sold (excluding multi-effects) will require a 9V DC 2.1mm power supply with centre negative polarity.  However, there are exceptions and you should refer to our compatibility chart to check compatibility with your specific pedals prior to purchase.

Do any of your power supplies make any noise - hiss or mains hum for instance?

No, our power supplies are designed to operate silently and will not add any noise to your signal chain.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

We aim to dispatch all orders within 24 hours (Mon-Fri).  Once posted, it is down to the efficiency of the postal services as to how long it will take.  Normally, items take 1-3 business days within the United Kingdom, 5-7 business days in the European Union and 7-10 business days for the rest of the world.  On rare occasions it can sometimes take longer.  If your order has not arrived after this time, we would ask that you check at your local sorting office.  When a package is too large for a letterbox and nobody is home to receive it, a card should be left to advise you that it has been returned to the sorting office.  However, this often doesn't happen or, if it does, the card is lost under a pile of junk mail.  It is therefore imperative to check for your package at your local sorting office.
